Moab, Goose Island Campground

About

Riverside camping for tents, RV's and trailers. Individual sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Two reservable group sites are available through Recreation.gov. The campsites offer spectacular views of the Colorado River and the massive red rock cliffs of Arches National Park. This campground is very popular due to its proximity to Moab, its shade in the summer and the beautiful scenery. Typically fills in the morning, from March-October. (Do not enter the river without the required life jackets; it has dangerous under currents.)

We stayed at goose island campsite, but we played all over Moab.

Activities they did

  • We hiked/splashed up Mill Creek to the water holes—the youth loved that! Wear water shoes and swimsuit.
  • We also booked a rafting day trip with World Wide River Excursions—fisher towers day trip—$55 per youth and $70 per adult, so $1800-ish (including tip)

Pros

  • Fun fun fun

Cons

  • Ants at campsite.
  • Right next to road.
  • Warm.
