Stake Conference

Dear Friends,

Will you please pause for a few moments to reflect on the areas of your life where you need help? It could be a relationship that’s suffering or severed, or complications from a health or mental health condition, or a distancing you’re feeling from God, or a personal sin or weakness to overcome, or anything else. Whatever it is that comes to mind, hear these words from the Lord Jesus Christ, for you:

“And now my sons [and daughters], remember, remember, that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build, they cannot fall.” (Helaman 5:12, The Book of Mormon)

We extend a warm welcome to each of you, and your friends and neighbors, to stake conference, the week of August 13-18. We’ll have fun activities for everyone, great opportunities to deepen relationships, but most of all, we’ll gather together to continue building our spiritual foundations on the sure rock of Jesus Christ, to find the peace, strength, comfort, protection and guidance that only comes through Him.

In preparation, we have two invitations for you:

  • Please set aside time to study general conference messages from President Nelson since April 2018, when he was sustained as our living prophet. Listen for the Lord’s voice speaking to you about how to center your life more fully on Jesus Christ.
  • As you study and ponder, please follow the promptings of the Spirit to invite friends and neighbors to “come and see”. There are so many of our brothers and sisters who are also seeking a sure foundation for their lives and for their loved ones.

We testify and promise that the incomparable love and power of the God's Holy Spirit will be with us as we gather together in the name of Jesus Christ, and He will minister to our needs and give us and our loved ones help.
