Teachers Camp 2021

  • 3 days, 2 nights
  • All meals provided
  • $135 per person
  • 12 youth attended

Scout camp still run by BSA but without any merit badge stuff. Offers adventure with minimal planning - they provide all the activities, food, even the tents.

Our YW also went to this same camp for their girls camp with a much larger group of youth. They stayed for four days and three nights for $165 per person.

Activities they did

  • High and low COPE course
  • Climbing
  • Rappelling
  • Archery/knife throwing
  • Aquatics (canoes and paddleboards in the resevoir)
  • Sunrise hike
  • Polar bear plunge
  • Value trail
  • Campfire program
  • Browning Challenge (relay race on the last day of camp)

The camp leaders provided spiritual thoughts and flag ceremonies but we also created our own devotional schedule and had a testimony meeting in camp on the last night.

Pros

  • Food and activities all provided.
  • Tents were provided as well which makes prep for the camp really simple.
  • We just brought a lot of snacks for the boys to munch on.
  • Activities were fun and challenging, schedule allowed for a good mix of staying busy with a few open slots for us to make use of on our own.

Cons

  • It was hot in July and not all campsites have equal shade. We brought a shade canopy which helped.
